Longer Battery Life: More than 2 x the battery life of SPOT 2 when using internal lithium batteries. Custom Tracking Rate: Tracking positions can now be sent every 2.5, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes. Motion Activated Tracking: An internal motion sensor gives SPOT Gen3 a theft alerting capability. Place it on any asset and when it detects movement it will begin transmitting its GPS coordinates. USB Connection: Enables line power for unlimited use without concern for battery power and allows your SPOT Gen3 to have the latest firmware updates at all times. In addition to the new features referred to above, SPOT Gen3 offers all the benefits of the previous SPOT 2: SPOT GPS Satellite Tracker SPOT SOS The SPOT Gen3’s SOS function can be used in the unfortunate event of an emergency scenario or other life-threatening situation. Once activated, SPOT will acquire its exact coordinates from the GPS network, and send that location along with a distress message to the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordinating Center every five minutes until cancelled or until the batteries are depleted. The Emergency Response Center notifies the appropriate emergency responders based on your GPS location and personal data as well as notifying your emergency contacts about the receipt of a distress signal. SPOT GPS Satellite Tracker SPOT Help The SPOT Gen3’s Help function acts as a less serious version of the SOS function; it can be used for circumstances which are not immediately dangerous and will alert your own contacts to your situation. Your contacts will receive either a text with your message and coordinates, or an email featuring a Google Maps link to your location. SPOT GPS Satellite Tracker SPOT Custom Message This button will send a pre-written message to your chosen contacts, along with your current GPS location, for a more detailed response or a secondary ‘help’ message when used with the SPOT Assist service. Your contacts will receive either a text with your message and coordinates, or an email featuring a Google Maps link to your location. Basic Tracking automatically transmits your GPS location every 10 minutes for 24 hours so you can share your adventures in near real time via SPOT Adventures or a SPOT Shared Page. Annual Unlimited Tracking Plan [Annual Cost: €39] – This plan allows you to take advantage of SPOT Gen 3’s ability to transmit GPS coordinates on customised frequencies [every 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes]. When activated, the Unlimited Tracking Plan enables your SPOT to transmit GPS location messages indefinitely without the need to reset every 24 hours. Annual Extreme Tracking Plan [Annual Cost: €99] – Get all of the great features of Basic and Unlimited Tracking but with the added ability to vary your track rate down to every 2½ minutes. Perfect for use on planes, vehicles or for the ultra-outdoor enthusiast. GEOS Member Rescue Benefit [Annual Cost: €11] – Allows for reimbursement of up to $100,000 in search and rescue [SAR] expenses, and will even liaise with private SAR contractors if necessary.
